White Winged Dove

Zenaida asiatica

Description:

White Winged Dove

Habitat:

Three White Winged Doves perched at rest for about 4 minutes on a line strung in my backyard. My backyard is adjacent to an urban park which enjoys a flurry of flight activity in the early morning and early evening hours. The tree in the photo is a desert acacia.

Welcome to Project Noah, jkuropat!

This is a great first spotting. I am fairly confident that you have a White-winged Dove here. The white crescent on the wing is diagnostic.

If you haven't done so already, it would be a good idea to read through the FAQ page:
http://www.projectnoah.org/faq

There is no need for you to make an ID suggestion on your own spotting. That area is for other users to make suggestions (as I did).

I hope you enjoy it here (as well as your grandchildren)!
