Southern Black Racer (Juvenile)

Coluber Constrictor Priapus

Description:

Young snake approx 21cm long. Mostly gray with red blotches.

Habitat:

Found this in my living room, photographed after I managed to capture and relocate it outside to the front porch.

Notes:

The fuzz on its head is just some dust bunnies from under the couch where it was hiding. It showed no indication of molting at the time. Also, it did coil (much like the first photo only tighter) and try to strike at me during my attempts to corral and remove it, no hissing noted.

Thank you for the ID turtlesandtombstones! I'm used to seeing the adults around the yard but we rarely see the juveniles (especially in the house!).
