Habitat:

Found on a mountain top outside of Cashiers, NC.

Notes:

Body didn't seem to be thick and broad like a skink. Any ID ideas?

I agree with Jason, I see the spots, this is Notophthalmus viridescens.

I'm not so sure. It doesn't have the characteristic spotting pattern. I'm still going with red salamander.

Thanks J ! Yeah I wish I would have taken more time for a better pic. All I had was my phone and it wouldn't focus very well on it.

Or a spring salamander, though I think that's less likely. Wish there was a better pic!

A bit blurry. Could be a red salamander or a red eft. I definitely think it's a salamander though.
