Description:

This is a female of the species as it is paler than the male which is a much more rusty red colour. The thorax in both sexes is brown above with yellow panels on the sides. The eyes are brown above and yellow below. The legs are black with a diagnostic yellow stripe along their length. These are found from summer up until November in warm years!

Habitat:

found on the ponds at Potteric Carr nature reserve, Owned and maintained by the Yorkshire wildlife trust.
