Tosale oviplagalis

Description:

A small moth in the Pyralidae family, Tosale oviplagalis, the Dimorphic Tosale is a unique moth which can be sometimes confused for a member of the Limacodidae family. The posture of this moth is distinctive of the genus Tosale. Males are reddish brown with a tuft of scales raised from the abdomen, whereas females are grayish and lack the tuft.

Habitat:

Deciduous/coniferous forests.
