Description:

A Mandarin rat snake at the Sedgwick Zoo. Mandarin rat snakes are fairly elusive in the wild, using rodent burrows to hide. They are crepuscular in nature. Because of their vibrant colors they are very popular in the pet trade.

Habitat:

Southeastern Asia.
