Tortuga de Carey, Hawksbill sea turtle

Eretmochelys imbricata

I found this hawksbill sea turtle coming out from the ocean to the sandy shore in order to lay eggs.

While this turtle lives part of its life in the open ocean, it spends more time in shallow lagoons and coral reefs.

The World Conservation Union classifies the hawksbill as critically endangered.
