Spotting

Description:

Found this guy inside my house hanging out with my house plants it's not actually black but a dark copper with black veining, swallowtail type wings with orange spots around the bottom of the wings and looks like possibly white spots along the edge of the top of the wings.

Habitat:

Current habitat seems to be my house plants

Notes:

The only note I can think of is about 2 weeks ago I found a caterpillar inside my house. Unfortunately he died but he was bright green, a little over an inch long and between a quarter and a third of an inch wide. Most likely that caterpillar and this butterfly are somehow related also, I made up some sugar water and put it in a hummingbird feeder close to the plants. Also put some sugar water on the surface of a small plate in case it can't get its proboscis thing down in the hummingbird feeder
