Azalea Caterpillar

Description:

Hungry, abt 20 of them eating on the same bush. Looks like a stinging variety, Id like to know what type of moth or butterfly it turns into. Thanx :)

thanks for the ID and info. Much appreciated. I watched these caterpillars grow when they hatched out their eggs. Fascinating how fast they grew! Never got to see them cocoon or in moth form though, they disappeared just as fast as they appeared!

Caterpillars can change radically in appearance as they grow; they can also be highly variable anyway, from one individual to another.
