knapweed

Centaurea sp.

Habitat:

I went through i major effort to try and get this plant onto our property, it actually bloomed this year, then the entire plant disappeared. It is very difficult to get things growing on a property over-mowed for decades. Home owners need more help how to get native species to thrive on our yards in order to support more native insects.
