Spotting

Description:

Location : Western Ghats (Sahayadri mountains), Maharashtra India Size : about 1/2 inch (without antennae).

Notes:

Don't know much about this insect. Initially I thought of it to be a beetle / ladybird but a closer look now and it only has colours to fool the untrained eye (yours truly) into believing it to be some sort of beetle. The body is exactly like a cockroach.

@Bayucca
I guess you are right. Do you know the exact species. Initially I thought of it to be a beetle but a closer look now and it only has colours to fool the untrained eye (yours truely) into believing it to be some sort of beetle.
The body is exactly like a cockroach. However this is unlike any of the common household cockroaches. Also worth mentioning that this one was spotted in the wild.
