Description:

Small finch. Males (pictured) are magenta to reddish pink on head,breast and rump with brown nape,brown streaked wings and brown streaked cream underside. Slight fork in brown tail.

Habitat:

Woodland and fence line near bay.

Notes:

This vibrant bird was busy eating seeds from tall wild grasses.
