Carcharodus baeticus
Body about 1 cm long, flying about and settled in the reeds, taken at midday on a very hot day.
Coastal marshes
OK, I hadn't realised a Skipper was a Butterfly, its on the last page of my book before the moths start but it only says Tufted Marbled Skipper and when I turned the page over its all moths. That shows how much I (don't) know about Butterflies and moths! I don't have anything on Southern Marbled Skipper so will look on the internet.
Hesperiidae, Carcharodus sp. and most probably Carcharodus baeticus. Please, verify!!
Hi Malcom, this looks like a very worn Skipper to me, rather than a moth. Perhaps Genus Carcharodus.
