Columbian Black-tailed Deer

Odocoileus hemionus columbianus

Description:

Black tail, large ears, notice the black stripe on the lower jaw in photo 3. Is this typical?

Habitat:

Shoreline Trail in Rocky Pt Park, Pt Moody, BC. Westcoast temperate rainforest.

Notes:

Very quiet as I stood and watched them but left when others came up the trail behind me. A special moment.
