Description:

About half inch long.

Habitat:

This deer fly in open area near water, but they are found in abundance in all habitats.

Notes:

Spotted at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge. Landed on my arm while I was taking macro photos so took a photo. It did bite while I was taking the photo.
