White-crowned Sparrow

Zonotrichia leucophrys

Description:

Male White-crowned Sparrow migrating back up north in Canada. I live in Michigan so getting this one before it left to go up north was pretty special.

Notes:

When I found this Male he had a pile of grubs, worms, and insects in a pile on the ground underneath him. He would fly down pick one of the insects up and fly back up to this low hanging branch to feed. Interesting habit for a cool little sparrow.
