A small owl that is streaked all over. This is the red phase, and this is the momma. Here is daddy: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/321...
In a residential neighborhood with lots of oak and pine trees. A friend told me he had a red and gray owl couple nesting in his yard, so I went to see them and they cooperated nicely for me :)

amazing series Ashley i really love it
Splendid captures :)
Thanks Bill! I actually rarely hear them, and only see them when others tell me where they are. Maybe one day I'll find one on my own :)
Great photos Ashley! I hear screech owls all the time while out-and-about (usually at dusk), but have never had the pleasure of spotting one in the wild. I'm jealous:)
Thanks Kate, Cody, Antonio, and Troy!
