Description:

not sure if this is a turkey tail or something else - they were growing on downed birch tree - margins quite strikingly violet on one side of the log, on the other side, much more pale. Note the toothed underside.

Trametes versicolor (Turkeytail) has tiny (closely-spaced) circular pores on its underside. It has many lookalikes that you may want to look into.
