Description:

Coprinellus is a genus of mushrooms in the family Psathyrellaceae. The genus was first described by Petter Karsten in 1879. Many of these species appear similar and require microscopic analysis to differentiate and identify.

Habitat:

Coprinellus is a common genus of fungus in the family Psathyrellaceae with most species having a cosmopolitan distribution. Coprinellus species often occur in nitrogen-rich habitats such as muck soils, dung, wet soft decayed wood, lawns, garden soils.

Very nice picture, do you have any close ups thought to aid with identification? You could always take a crop of the original full sized image and upload it to give us more detail. I suspect a Coprinellus species.
