Found on Chuckanut Mountain USA in a forested area. Jean spotted it and I photograhed it.
I see that Wiki mentions:
"Cultivation is extremely difficult due to sensitive mycorhizzal associations."

But it is confusing that it says the leaves are green all year round and you say there were no leaves, just the flower stalks. Hmmm...
Since this plant has no leaves, it might be mycohetertrophic. There were three of these plants growing approximately a foot apart. There were no leaves at all. Just the flower stocks standing alone in a conifer forest. There were no other wintergreen plants in the area.
