Distinctively marked as shown.

Habitat:

Vast open field of degraded shortgrass prairie. Very short grass, yucca, sunflower, cacti, scattered elm trees. The butterfly was nectaring on a lone, blooming saltcedar tree (Tamarix sp.).

Notes:

This is not a regular butterfly this far north along the Front Range.
