Black-Tufted Marmoset

Callithrix penicillata

Description:

I saw this group of "Callithrix penicillata" catching food in a birds feeder. A local resident who was there and saw me photographing, said that has years that this group has been there. And, they are already accustomed to a certain "domestication", because some people feed them. According to locals, is the same group that I saw here: [ http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/307... ] And, see how the fur of "Callithrix penicillata" can be confuse with the wood.

Habitat:

I found this group in the edge of a river. In a transition region between the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado.

Notes:

Okay, I admit I could not resist and took a few bananas for them. But just remember: When see wild animals, even if they appear docile or not, should be avoided to maximum the contact. To avoid you hurt, as well as animal. Of course, it is not always possible to avoid contact, but many animals tend to change habits when maintain contact with Human, may ultimately cause harm to them.
