Leiolepis belliana
A colourful lizard, male approx. 30cm long
Sandy coastal path.
I assume the male is the colourful specimen, while the smaller, brown lizard is the female of the species. Each mature male seemed to patrol a territory which included one or two females in his harem. Some were seen to have made burrows in the sand. One or two lizards would eat hibiscus flowers handed to them by resort staff! Males were also seen to engage in coprophagy.

Your welcome, AdamBT....
Thanks Ashley, thanks maplemoth662 :)
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
