Giant Lady Beetle

Anatis lecontei

Description:

Looks similar to a Lady Bug but larger, maybe .5" wide. Red back. thorax is black with 2 white stripes.

Habitat:

This one was found on a maple(?) in a shady, aspen grove at approx 7400'.

Notes:

I found this next to some other lady bugs. I was amazed to see its size.
