California Whiptail

Aspidoscelis tigris munda

Description:

Long slender bodied lizard with long tail. About 6 light brown stripes down the back, filled in with a dark color with light brown spots.. Broken dark stripes over a lighter brown. Mottled dark colored legs. Large scales on face and on top of body is almost beaded like scales. Quick runner.

Habitat:

Spotted this on the dry spot of a marsh bottom.

Notes:

I first spotted it lifting leaves to look for prey underneath.
