Magnificent shot
They need old growth forest. That's the biggest problem. Too much of the logging in Tasmania is old-growth-forest. Which are entire ecosystems. not just the trees. We have a pair that nests only a few kilometers from us, because of a 1000 hectare reserve. When we see them near our house, unfortunately our resident ravens drive them away. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/337... In fact they drive off all the raptors. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/596...
Superb shot...but less than 200 pairs! That is so sad.
Great great shot!
