Unknown Mushrooms

Description:

Very small, brown mushrooms with bell-shaped/ conical caps. Dark stems. Outside edges of caps are pale. Gilled. Growing out of a dead pine tree that was on the ground.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Pine tree, most likely Pitch Pine (Pinus rigida). Connetquot River State Park, New York.
