Description:

A fragile spring flower that opens in full sunlight and then closes at night. The blood-red root was traditionally used as a dye in addition to many medicinal uses. But, it has toxic properties and is not recommended to be ingested.

Habitat:

Growing in a swampy, mixed forest.
