Too me I think they are crazy. They did it to us before with the Clapper Rail. Now ours are call Ridgeway's Rail.

Your welcome. The ABA recently split the Western Scrub Jay. In California it's now called California Scrub Jay and east of the border is Woodhouse's. They found a slight difference in size, bill and color to say these are enough that are now too different.to be called the same bird.
