Description:

Especie de mangle que llega a medir entre 4-10 m de alto, halófilo que muchas raíces aeras o adventicias. Alta adaptación a ambientes salinos y es la especie de mangle más común en Utila.

Habitat:

Corriente marinas, esteros buena adaptación en planos lodos, y es la especie más resistente a ambientes acuáticos y salinos. Posee neumatoforos para el intercambio gaseoso.
