Description:

Hodges #6818. Wings are closed tightly above abdomen at rest. A variety of orange, browns, white, pink and green. Similar to Northern Thorn (S. alciphearia) but underside of hind wing has broader black median line and wider white band beyond PM line (shown as pale pink here). Hosts are Deciduous trees including basswood, beech, birch, elm, maple and oak. wingspan 33-52 mm. UNCOMMON

Rich mesic woods

Notes:

This is only the second Kent's Geometer that I've seen in my life. It came to my blacklight/floodlight setup
