Crown-tipped Coral

Clavicorona pyxidata

Description:

Many-branched, yellowish coral with crownlike tips which are cup-shaped yellow, becoming dull ochre , tannish-white, or pink-tinged. Mushroom 2"-5" Tall.

Habitat:

On dead wood, especially willow, poplar or aspen. Range is throughout North America. This one in Cushing Mem. Park in Canton, Ga 30124 on 7/26/13 by dock #8.

Notes:

Reportedly Edible, but I did not try... Season June-September.
