Pantydia sparsa
A greyish-brown moth with a wingspan of about 40mm. Both wings have diffuse blackish grey patterns. The submarginal area has a thin brown line with jagged black markings on either side of line. The moth appeared to have a velvety black collar. Eyes were black and medium-length antennae, a pale grey. Hind wings were also a pale grey with dark submarginal area.
This moth was spotted on a sidewalk in broad day light- fairly mild winter day. The larvae of this moth is said to feed on plants from the Fabaceae and Santalaceae. http://bie.ala.org.au/species/Pantydia+s...
