Sea pink mantles

Armeria maritima

Description:

I can´t think of a more beautiful surroundings for the sea birds to make their nests than the mantles of sea pink flowers that cover the cliffs of Sunburgh Head in June. In some pics you can see puffin burrows in the middle of the sea pink mantle.

Habitat:

Salty marshes, beaches and rocky coastal cliffs.
