Ursus arctos
This family of Brown bears were seen between 12 midnight and 2am in the light of the Arctic summer where it has 24 hour daylight during the months of May to early August. As seen on these photos the colour of the Brown Bears fur can vary between a very light brown to almost Black.
Seen from the Hide of the Martinselkonen wilds centre in the middle of the Taiga forest, Suomussalmi on the Russian border. This is a dense Pine and spruce forest where the bears find most of their food including berries and fish.

Such a cool photo! Reminds me of Goldilocks :)
hey waxr6r, you have to be very quiet and patient and sometimes just sit and see what comes past you, you will be amazed at what turns up if it thinks there is no-one there :-)
How do u guys find all of these animals? The only one I can find are squirrels and my dog! :p
Thanks again Madalena :-)
what a beautiful spotting!
I thought you appreciate the difficulty of that Pedro haha ;-) I still have loads to upload but have to compress the images first.
Hahaha that's even more impressive! What a fantastic trip it must have been.
Thanks Pedro, this incredibly is the middle of the night on low ISO!!
Wow, incredible spotting.
Its a lovely place in either summer or winter but be warned that winter temperatures go down to -40 degrees c!! There are only about 10 people a day allowed to go so early booking is advisable and I believe the best month to go in is July :-)
Many thanks! I will keep it. My mother is this year on holidays in the very North of Finland and Norway so it got me thinking that I should do the same some time soon :-) I will keep your link for future reference :-)
Here is the link for Martinselkonen Marta and for anyone else who would love to see wild bears close up:

No way! Great spotting :)
wow!
Also if you look at the cub standing on 2 feet you can see the white triangle opatch on its shoulder thats visible on the separate posting of the male, which according to the local ranger this indicates they are likely to be his offspring.
Thank you very much Nuwan, bayucca, Ashley and J, we saw 30 different individuals over two nights all with different markings. The 24 hour daylight is very surreal!
Wonderful!
