Cinquefoil

Potentilla sp.

Description:

Yellow flowers with 5 notched petals. Leaves were compound and divided into 5 toothed leaflets.

Habitat:

Growing in a deciduous forest on the edge of a swamp.

Notes:

Cinquefoil has many potential medicinal uses, including using an infusion made from the root as an astringent, antiseptic, and tonic.
