Woodwax mushrooms

Hygrophorus sp.

Description:

Mushrooms with viscid and waxy caps about 30 mm wide. Caps were a pale grey with slightly darker centres. Cap margins were in-curved, irregular and undulating as they grew in a clump. The underside showed pale, slightly spaced gills. Stipe was slightly dark.

Habitat:

Spotted growing in grass in a nature reserve.

Notes:

I believe this is Hygrophorus species but if incorrect, please advise. Thanks. Family: Hygrophoraceae
