Green, round berries with red-brown specks. Somewhat large, smooth leaves with parallel venation.
Temperate forest.
Also goes by interesting names such as treacleberry, feathery false lily of the valley, Solomon's plume or false spikenard.
Hm, I don't think they're gooseberries, Sandy. I'm not even sure if those are found in my region.
