A group of vultures is called: a wake, committee, venue, kettle, or volt! Black Vultures lack a syrinx (avian vocal organ); so they can only hiss/grunt. This morning, they barked.

A wake of vultures...how apt! Thanks I had not known. Have soft spot for the poor vultures...great spotting.
