Ichneumons are parasitic wasps. Not sure of the exact type.
Found in our raspberry cage.
I checked some Ichneumonidae of UK, but did not find a reasonable match. Personally I do not think this is Ichneumon molitorius. This one should have white antennae part and yellowish femurs:http://eol.org/pages/3758764/overviewJust to show you the complexity of only Ichneumonidae in UK:http://www.brc.ac.uk/downloads/Ichneumon...Key issue would be white spot on the head, colors of the femurs, tibias and feet (!), antennae color. A tremendous variability!!My closest guess/hint would be: Cratichneumon sicarius, without being that confident, colors are somehow different...I admit I have to capitulate, wasps are not really my business...Just a few other links to compare:http://www.rutkies.de/bienen-3/Cratichne...http://www.commanster.eu/commanster/Inse...http://macroid.ru/showphoto.php?photo=43...http://insektenfotos.de/forum/index.php?...
