Description:

Every year between July and October, whales swim by Punta del Este, Uruguay. They are on their way south, to Puerto Madryn, and generally take a break in the calm waters of Maldonado Bay.

Today there was a whale. I didn't have the opportunity to take a picture, but at least until now they're still here. Hope you'll be lucky this weekend!

I imagine, it must have been beautiful. I might go next weekend and maybe they are in a swimming near the coast mood. Greetings

Hi Patty; you did a good thing in not coming today. I couldn't find them today. These pictures are from yesterday. I just saw them from the coast (generally they come close enough; I think this one was at 50-100 metres from the coast at its closest moment, really quite incredible).

Great Remco! I was planning on going to Punta del Este today to watch the whales but my daughter didn´t want; it must have been a beautiful sight. Great pictures! Where you sailing or from the coast?
