Bird Nest Fungi

Nidulariaceae

Description:

I found this cup shaped fungus under a weed that I plucked out of my grass. It is very small, approximately a quarter inch across the top of the cup. The small brown specks are dirt that was flung when I pulled the weed

Habitat:

Moist grass, under a maple tree

Thank you. I wondered because I had seen others like it, but I wasn't sure. I was so excited to see it!
