I have added the scientific name. This is a very important piece of information as it removes the spotting from the unidentified portion of our database. Thanks for adding it to the Raptor mission!

Thank you! We were very worried as it didn't seem to be able to take off! Even called our local wildlife prairie park to make arrangement to capture and transport... But as mentioned earlier... It was gone later... With no sign of having been harassed or attacked!

Nice series! Definitely an adult...full red tail comes in 2nd summer, and the eyes take 3-5 years to darken as much as this one. Beautiful bird!

We saw him along the side of our driveway... We think it might have been having flying lessons. It was gone about an hour later!
