Pieris brassicae
An introduced specie to South Africa. Was first spotted in Cape Town in the mid 1990's. It is thought that they arrived here from Europe in vegetables containing their larvae or eggs. It has since then established itself and has spread northwards along the west coast and in an easterly direction along the south coast.
Parks and gardens.
