Broad Nosed Weevil

Talaurinus impressicollis

Description:

About 20 mm long, this black weevil looked primitive with its heavy, leathery-looking thorax and ridged elytra. Anterioirly the pronotum appeared to be drawn out to a bifurcated appendage. The snout was short and antennae were elbowed. A pair of claspers ( like pincers) could be seen at the rear end of the abdomen.

Habitat:

Found clinging to native grass -Lomandra

Notes:

Will post more information on this weevil when I have found some....
