Description:

Flower: Lavender, purple, to pinkish at end of stalk above leaves. Bloom late in summer. 5 petals. Leaves: Fern-like, ornate. Rounded lobes, green in summer to red in fall. Height: Up to 40 cm.

Habitat:

Open dry places, open woods, clearings, and rocky shores.

Notes:

Seen in one large bunch around campsites in Blue Heron circle. Just on the side of the main road.
