Cichorium intybus
Chicory has a very tough stem, with few leaves. The plant may stand 30 to 100 cm (10 to 40 in) in height. The flowers are usually a bright blue and about 3 cm (1.5 in) width.
Grasslands, but I often find them in disturbed areas, such as along country roads, often growing in gravel shoulders.
