Six-lined Racerunner

Aspidoscelis sexlineata

Description:

Dark green, brown or black lizard with six yellow stripes running the extent of the body with a cobalt blue underside. Also a very fast runner, able to run up to 20 MPH.

Habitat:

Hot southern areas such as dunes and sandy areas. Usually avoids the mountain areas.

Notes:

Spotted on St Marks National Wildlife Refuge Lighthouse trail.
