Pierella luna luna
This butterfly stayed close to the ground, deep in the forest undergrowth where it was dark. I often disturbed them while walking along a path deep in the forest.
Pierella lamia occurs in rainforest habitats at elevations between about 200-1400m. It likes clear trails in the forest, and secondary forest edges adjacent to forested areas.
I think bayucca is still in France.
He sure is the expert on Costa Rica'n Butterflies.
Hope he gets back to Switzerland safely soon.
I read here that it is a Pierella luna
