Yellow Crowned Night Heron a frequent sighting at Round Island Park in Vero Beach
A nocturnal heron of the southern swamps and coasts, the Yellow-crowned Night-Heron can also be found breeding along wooded streams northward to Indiana and Illinois. I see them in the day time as well- often roosting on the spoil islands in the Indian River lagoon
